FAQS

Remedial massage is not a general relaxtion massage, it is a specialised form of massage where our highly trained massage therapists use specific techniques to help treat sore, damaged and immobile muscles. The massage is extremely beneficial for reducing pain with acute injuries and alleviating pain in people suffering from chronic conditions. It is also suited to people who feel drained and exhausted, as it works to release tight and overworked muscles, reduce spasms and assist in tissue regeneration.

Remedial Massage is recommended for people who are experiencing tension, soreness, injury or chronic issues. From office workers, teachers, medical staff, parents and athletes to those suffering from sciatia, carpel tunnel syndrome, arthritis, aches, pains and headaches- Remedial Massage is ideal for literally anyone!

During the Remedial Massage, the damaged areas of your body are identified by our therapist. Depending on the injury and the desired outcome, the therapist makes use of deep pressure massage techniques or more softer, shallow ones to aid your body's own healing process.

People with chronic conditions are recommended to visit every 2-4 weeks for a remedial massage to ensure optimal function. People with acute, recent injuries are recommended to visit around 72 hours following the injury.

Pre and Post care

Remedial Massage Pre & Post Care

There are no special requirements for a Remedial Massage. You feel nice and relaxed after your massage, now it’s time to look after your body as it takes 1-2 days for your body to process your massage treatment.  Here are some ways you can focus on self care to get the most out of your massage and aid your physical and emotional recovery.  -Drink plenty of water (2 cups more than your normal daily intake)  -Be aware of your body’s physical, mental and emotional reactions -Be aware of past thoughts, memories and emotions that may stir up – use your breath to let them go.  Depending on the type of massage you receive, you may feel some soreness or discomfort. Stretching and using breath into stretch can help your recovery over the next couple of days. Ask our specialised therapist, Simone, to show you some basic breathing techniques at your next appointment. Call 4365 0515 or book online.

You may experience slight soreness and discomfort in the targeted areas. However this usually only lasts for 24 to 48 hours. Stretching and using breath into stretch can help your recovery over the next couple of days.
